Revitalizing Greek Island Yoga Retreat

Amorgos |September 22-29, 2024

"I’m still basking in the beauty...the incomparable knowledge that you shared with us was very inspiring. I want to do it all over again!"

-Antoinette Snyder, California

HOW WOULD IT FEEL TO ALIGN WITH ALIVENESS?

Imagine relaxing into presence and opening to the life force that is aching for you to slow down and LISTEN.

Imagine expanding your breath and finding a new way to come HOME to your body.

Imagine reconnecting to what brings you JOY.

Imagine receiving beauty and ease and connection, knowing that YOU DESERVE THIS, and you are enough.

"Lily provides an invigorating, transformative yoga practice and a holistic approach that invites retreaters to uncover, work through, and renew their life energy. To me, this is what a yoga retreat is all about."

-Liz Lord, Maryland

go deeper BY RETREATING

Sometimes the best way to move forward is not to keep pushing, but to PAUSE.

A yoga retreat offers a chance to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with what brings you authentic joy—to clear your lens and see the world anew.

Along with travel and exploration, a retreat also allows for a deeper journey within oneself and a chance to experience a true breakthrough with the transformative power of yoga. The consistency of two yoga sessions a day can result in profound shifts.
By slowing down and attuning yourself to your body and to the natural world, you’ll find a strength and a clarity you never knew was possible.

MEET YOUR GUIDE

Join Lily Dwyer Begg for a transformative yoga retreat on a remote Greek Island. Unplug from your routine and immerse yourself in the beauty of mystical Amorgos. Nourish mind, body, and spirit, shift your perspective through yoga immersion, and create lifelong healing memories.

Lily is a world-class yoga instructor with over 20 years of experience teaching in various locations. She has led yoga retreats across the world and worked with students ranging from an NBA Basketball Team to professional dancers to expecting mothers and private clients around the world and yoga teachers in training. Lily runs a thriving virtual yoga studio, allowing students to experience her classes before signing up for a retreat.

"Lily has an almost prescient way to meet her students 'where they are' with respect to language, modifications and assists. I came away from the retreat feeling stronger in my practice, yet content with where I am and with a clear path to how I might get there."

-Karen McKenna, Maryland

FEEL DON’T FORCE

Experience energizing, strengthening morning Vinyasa yoga. Playful yet precise, each practice focuses on different themes and anatomical points such as hip openers, backbends, twists, forward folds, core work, and inversions. Lily's expert guidance ensures a perfect balance between effort and relaxation, with modifications for all levels. In the afternoon, enjoy restorative practices that promote clarity and self-inquiry for a transformative yoga experience.

A few free afternoons with no pre-dinner practice are sprinkled into the retreat to allow for spaciousness and spontaneity, and offer the chance to choose your own adventure. Relax in the resort spa, visit the local shops, or take an indulgent nap by the seaside. It’s up to you!

PLAY IS THE WAY

Life flows at a playful pace on retreat. Unlike home, you don’t have to maintain a strict schedule. Enjoy the spaciousness to take spur-of-the moment adventures or longer treks on the island and prioritize your spontaneous side. Offering yourself down time to relax and digest the new experiences and yoga practices is key to the integrity of your  retreat experience.

Will you sip a green smoothie in a hammock chair between dips in the cool plunge or sauna at the resort’s spa? Or will you escape into the pages of a good book over a local Frappe (the official Greek iced coffee drink of summer) between dips in the clear blue salty sea? Or maybe exploring the island’s winding roads on a scooter is more your thing.

Amorgos is known for its pristine beaches, but also offers a windmill-studded medieval village, bougainvillea-lined corridors of artisan shops, a historic monastery built into a cliff, ancient hiking trails with a jaw-dropping views of the Aegean, and a vibrant dining life for the foodie in you.

Find your playful side.

Gather on the mystical island of Amorgos to rejuvenate and enjoy:

RETURN TO CENTER

Long after your time on retreat has ended, its effects will continue to ripple out into your daily life back home.

Together, we will walk away feeling…

  • Aligned with our true selves and with our aliveness

  • Transformed, strengthened, and joyful

  • Connected with ourselves, nature, and our communities

In the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, it is written,

You who are the embodiment of blessing,

Once you know the way,

The nature of attention will call you to return.

Again and again, answer that call,

And be saturated with knowing,

“I belong here, I am at home.”

After this experience, your body and mind will know the way back to your center. If you want to move forward, it’s time to retreat.

“Lily's Greece retreat was amazing. As a mom of young kids and business owner I wasn't sure it was possible to take the time away from regular life to travel to Greece on a yoga retreat. However, it is possible and not only was the experience unmatched, the longer term benefits of the refresh continue to grow. I highly recommend any of Lily's yoga retreats and will definitely be doing another one in the future.”

    Travel to Amorgos

Amorgos can only be accessed by ferry. You can fly into Athens and take the LONG ferry or fly into Santorini, Naxos, or Mykonos and take the SHORT ferry. If you're prone to seasickness, take the shorter ferry and look for the High Speed option.

Check schedules on Ferry Hopper and plan to arrive on time for the first day, allowing for wind delays. Shuttle from either ferry port to the resort on Sept 22 and 29 is included in your rate.

I highly recommend from experience that you account for the length of travel, jet-lag, and possible delays and spend an extra night or two in Greece before the retreat if possible.

Exemptions to the vaccine requirement will be considered for individuals with medical conditions that prevent them from being vaccinated and for individuals with sincerely held religious beliefs that prohibit them from being vaccinated with an agreement to a rigorous plan for testing. If this applies to you, please email lilyyoga@gmail.com to coordinate a plan to keep you and everybody safe and well.

We will provide no refund or other reimbursement to you if you are unable to participate in the Yoga Retreat due to illness such as COVID 19 prior to trip departure or during the Yoga Retreat but reimbursement can typically be sought from most travel insurance policies. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included and highly recommended. You are responsible for purchasing your own travel insurance policy for the retreat, all corresponding travel expenses, and medical care abroad. If you cancel due to unforeseen illness or personal or family emergency before or during the retreat (including COVID 19, pregnancy, surgery or injury), miss part of the retreat due to travel delays, lose luggage or have a delayed luggage, or require medical care abroad, we cannot reimburse you, however your personal travel insurance policy typically can.

Please note many travel insurance companies require you to purchase a policy within 14-21 days of any initial deposit for the trip.
